Vanderbilt Stables Luxury Condominiums - By Harkins Development (Chris Harkins)
of Portsmouth, RI
A Parcel of the Past and a Part of the Future!
Imagine a place where the Vanderbilts and other members of historic families lived - these are folks who could choose to live most anywhere, but they choose the Sandy Point Beach Area of Portsmouth, RI as their home! Many other prominent familes of the "Gilded Age" also choose Aquickneck Island for their summer...or full time homes.
Blessed with a mild climate, sea breezes, rich soil, flora and fauna as well
as natural beauty which is world-class, the Island has everything that those
who desire a coastal life style might seek. Portsmouth in the warmer months
is a Eden of natural beauty, with bumper crops of potatoes, blueberrys, apples
and many other vegetables and fruits, all which grow with abandon on the fertile
soils.

According to Chris Harkins of Harkins Development, who is currently restoring the property:
"What has become Vanderbilt Stables Condominiums was brought to our attention through our network in the community. The condo project consists of a total of 21 units or 4 acres, and an additional 3 acre parcel that will hold 3 single family homes. The condos are situated on 2 separate parcels that were formerly apartment buildings and originally part of Reginald Vanderbilt’s estate. We are currently 100% complete with the first phase composed of 12 units totaling 25,000 square feet with a one and a half acre amenity area containing a pool, tennis court and picnic area.
