Welcome to the recently updated website with family information on my Great Grandparents and relatives. Much of the information was found in free public listings (see below), some was gathered from relatives with good memories, and some found in US census records and other public databases.

What?

This is a web index of relatives and descendants of Ferragame, Dinardo, Issod, and Bogen. You can find your name in the NAME INDEX and then click parents or children to go up or down the family tree - or start with the SURNAME LIST.

I'm sure there are lots of mistakes. If you have any corrections or additional info please let me know and I will make the necessary changes. Please send the URL to any other relatives that you think might be interested in the information.

Why?

I started entering my immediate family into a Genealogical program (Reunion for Mac) and little by little started adding more people. It got to be kind of fun - like a crossword puzzle that never ends. The Internet makes it pretty easy to search and find additional information, and it's nice to be able to preserve and share the information with relatives and their children who might someday be interested in searching for their roots or other relatives.

There are many similar Genealogical programs and the data can be exported and imported as standard GEDCOM files. Let me know if you'd like a copy.

Ellis Island - set up a free account and you can search for immigration records. This is where I found the manifest listing Fracesco Ferragamo's arrival date.

Social Security Death Records - you can searth these for birth and death information, Social Security numbers, location where the SS number was assigned, and last residence.

Online Telephone directories can find current address, and sometimes ages and names of relatives.

Ancestry.com has access to lots of genealogical information, but they do charge for access. Many LDS churches have Family History Centers with computers that allow FREE access - call one in your neighborhood and ask for their hours. Be sure to bring a USB FlashDrive along so you can make copies of the census records that you find.

Facebook can find the names of people and often show their friends and/or relatives names.

Most of the information found here is available in public records online - but if you concerned about any personal information listed let me know and I will be happy to remove it.
